Uploading Plugins

In this part of starting your own blog we are going to look at uploading plugins to your wordpress blog.

Plugins give your blog extra functionality as well as making it even more search engine friendly.

We have produced a pdf document listing our Top Ten Plugins plus links to videos showing you how to upload and activate each one, which you can get by sending an email to TopTenPlugins AT aweber.com (replacing AT with @ and removing the spaces)

Configuring WordPress

The next thing you need to do is edit your settings in WordPress and get your blog ready to receive content.

The list below, with screenshots, is a list of the default settings you need to change:

1. Delete the “Hello World” post.

2. Delete the “About” page.

Offline Marketing – A Business Model To Consider?

Once every eight weeks we take our Yorkshire Terrier Biscuit to the dog groomers. The dog grooming process takes about 2 hours and in that time we normally go for a meal at the local pub.

The pub in question is part of a chain of pubs and as such their food operation is much the same as any other food franchise in that you can expect the same menu at each of their outlets and their food is prepared and served to a certain format.

We happen to like the food it is always hot and tasty and they generally offer 2 meals for £10. Now I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal there, which is more than I can say for other pubs and restaurants where one meal could cost £10 or more.

Setting up a personalized email address for your blog

You can set up several email addresses for your domain via the cpanel at your webhost.

This is not as complicated as it might sound and to prove it I have recorded a short video showing you how to do it and also how to forward your new email address (or addresses) to your main email address so that any emails you receive via the address you set up will automatically go to your personal email address.
