Changing Your WordPress User Name and Password

It’s an unfortunate fact of life that hackers will try and spoil your party by getting into your blog and causing all sorts of damage.

They do it for kicks leaving the majority of us just wishing they would GET A LIFE!

Anyhow, whilst you may find techy stuff duller than a dull thing and you would sooner be posting nice pictures and interesting posts and articles on your blog the fact remains that you need to protect yourself from the scum that go around the internet causing havoc to the unprotected.

So the first thing to do is to change your username and password.

Ensuring that you do not use the same name you use to post on your blog as your username, that just gives hackers an advantage they don’t need or deserve.

Once you’ve done that make sure you have a nickname set up in the Your Profile section of Users and that you select it from the drop down list as per the following screenshot:
