Starting Your Own Blog – Part 2

In Part 1 we looked at how blogs started and the benefits to business in having a blog.

Now it’s easy to get bogged down in the idea that blogs are for geeks and people who just want to talk about their hobby all day and their readers to leave feedback and comment on what they’ve written.

In Part 2 we are going to look at when a blog is not a blog (except it is!), different types of blogs and how to set up a WordPress blog in 10 minutes or less.

When is a blog not a blog?
Now blogs are in fact websites, so get used to thinking of your blog in that way and it takes all the geeky – ness out of it. If you are new to all of this and want to get your business online, setting up a blog is the easiest way to do it. You can then customise it and in no time at all it will look like what you may traditionally be thinking of as a website (when it is in fact still a blog).

Starting Your Own Blog – Part 1

The first question you might be asking is why have a blog at all?

A good reason is that blogging can enhance and support all of your online communications, business or personal.

Why do people or businesses start blogging?

The answer is for a variety of reasons, but what it boils down to is to tell the world online that you are there.

Blogging actually started about a decade ago as a kind of online journal, where people shared information about their lives and it has grown from there, using the same premise, but is now used more and more to share business information.

Blogging has now become associated with online marketing. Bloggers not only publish content reflecting their thoughts for the day or share the projects they are working on they also advertise their products,services and create an open line of communication with their audience.

The use of blogging has led to people the world over finding an alternative way to make money from home. (more…)
